Wave formation

No wonder, it’s tough to break trends when politicians can’t agree. Last week, Danish network DR2 broadcasted Debatten including leading Danish people who supposedly should know a lot about lifestyle and obesity. In their own way they do, but it’s just like any other diet, when they want to find quick fixes like differentiating VAT on healthy foods, give kids an extra hour of exercise in school, have us start love the art of healthy cooking – the list of suggestions goes on.

BUT those are top down solutions, no one really cares listening to people with actual problems, not a single programme has been initiated to try to understand lifestyle problems from real life angles. In search of coming up with a solution for people iJoule is built bottom up. You have to understand how the problem acts to be proactive. At this moment we’re testing our tools on hundreds of people to get that deeper understanding and the results are amazing – we can’t wait to show you!

But even though we’re trying the best we can to come up with a community tool and solve some of the problems, we need a BIG stir in the waters to create a wave. An ideology supported by politicians, food industries, organizations, fashion, sports, culture and of course the people. Now, a recent study showed that obesity is contagious, YES, but so is life!

Connecting the elements

iJoule offering

Once again I am overwhelmed by the media’s interest in obesity, yesterday one of our biggest daily newspapers Ekstrabladet  did a cover on the status in Denmark - now 4 people die from diseases related to overweight EVERY day. Further, one of the highest rated TV shows Go’ Aften Danmark did a close up of overweight 3 people all having surgery. Two of them already lost a lot of weight and looked really good. BUT, here’s the catch

  • A diet typically works short term
  • Surgery works physically

What happens after? People fall back. This is the one MAJOR problem the world is facing now, - and this is the problem iJoule is going to solve. In the community, we invite people to focus on building mind energy in small groups, they will be given tools and guiding to become successful in every aspect of lifestyle challenges. There is only one side effect once people enter these groups - they will slowly start losing weight!

The Indian connection

David and NIraj

Niraj Gemawat, managing director of Gateway on the left, and I sat at Morten’s house just recently closing what I expect to be a Kick A. relationship. Quite in the spirit of traditional corporate relations we started out going through a 10 page term sheet, but we quickly came to the conclusion that a 10 page prenup just isn’t the best starting point for any marriage. So since Niraj is a partner and wishes to bring his best resources to iJoule obviously, we got rid of the term sheet and started all over describing everything almost on a one-pager. How is that for simplicity?

Anyway, I am truly honored to have him on board on the technical part - but also as business sparring partner and friend.

Implementing a proven framework

It took me quite some time to scan the market for valid coaching frameworks that would fit iJoule’s lifestyle community. I mean coaching has become the buzzword of the new millenium, but only few seem to be really good. SundDialog and iJoule found common grounds and their online coaching software - already tested on many people - is a winner. This week Lasse, Tobias and I put ink on the paper starting what I think can be a FANTASTIC relationship in many respects.

Welcome

Enough with the world telling us what to eat, when to exercise and how to be successful, here we lost grip and probably you did too. Frankly, losing weight has become a jungle of quick fix offerings. Information about what’s healthy or not and miracle diets attack us everyday. This frustration builds like adding fuel to a fire, admit it, we’ve entered a vicious lifestyle circle and we can’t seem to find a way out again. We’re people with a free will, but not knowing how to go about a long term lifestyle change slowly takes the fun out of living away from us.
iJoule is here to combat this challenge by providing a revolutionary framework to changing lifestyle and losing weight. We’re here to do something about it once and for all, welcome to the iJoule blog.
